Money Matters

I make my living by charging a fee for my services.

Fees

An initial consultation is arranged to help you decide if working with an independent midwife is the right decision for you, and to give you an opportunity meet me in person.

The full fee for all your maternity care will be £3,000. This covers all the midwifery care I offer - your initial consultation, the booking visit, antenatal care during your pregnancy, care during the birth itself and all your postnatal visits until the baby is 28 days old.

Initial Consultation Fee: £50. This is non-refundable.

Complete Maternity Care Package: £3,000.

This can be paid according to a mutually acceptable schedule, possibly via monthly cheque's or Direct Debits. The initial consultation fee is deducted from the amount owed, if you decide to book with me, leaving a balance of £2,950.

Insurance

As an Independent Midwife, it is not currently possible for me to purchase the Indemnity Insurance available to National Health Service (NHS) Trusts. This means that should the need, unfortunately, arise and you choose to sue me, there are no monies available to fund a successful claim. If you choose NHS care, you will be able to sue the hospital, or the practitioner concerned, through their vicarious liability cover.

Through a combination of my midwifery training, clinical experience, midwifery peer review and up to date evidence informed practice, I aim to provide the safest and best midwifery care that I can for you and your baby, but there can never be a complete guarantee that no adverse outcome will occur.
